Name servers Print

Domain Name Service (DNS) is how the Internet finds your domain via IP addresses in your domain zone record, and hence your website and mail. The authoritative name servers are the name servers that provide that information.

If our name servers are your authoritative name servers, then you have nothing to do. If your name servers are not ours, then the IP address for your zone must be updated manually by you at your domain's registrar (such as GoDaddy). Our authoritative name servers include the following sets of name servers (only one set is necessary):

  1. ns1.ipns.com, ns2.ipns.com, ns3.ipns.com, ns4.ipns.com (preferred)
  2. ns1.myservlink.com, ns2.myservlink.com, ns3.myservlink.com, ns4.myservlink.com
  3. acresofclams.drizzle.com, giantsquid.drizzle.com, flashflood.drizzle.com, twinpeaks.drizzle.com
  4. ns.ipnshosting.com, ns2.ipnshosting.com

There are one of two options you can take by logging into your registrar's portal and making one of these two changes:

  1. Change the IP address in the zone record. We can assist with that if you provide the login credentials.
  2. Change the authoritative name servers to ours (ns1/2/3/4.ipns.com). This will make all future account changes to your DNS zone occur automatically, and you'll have only one place to manage your Internet services.
